I am a 29 year old wife and mother. My daughter is a sexual assault/abuse survivor. I am on a mission to bring awareness to sexual assault/abuse. And give my daughter and the many children that are survivors, a voice. This blog tells Jasmine's story, follows her journey of healing, and my fight.

A quick little update
Jasmine has been busy with summer activites. We went to the beach for 4 days, which was really nice. She is counting down the days until she goes back to school and becomes a big 3rd Grader! We talked the other day about going through her room and decluttering, and getting ready for school to start. Getting rid of unused items and making any changes to her room that she might want. While we were on the topic of deluttering, I carefully mentioned going through all of her toys (which she has a TON of and hardly uses, but when I suggest we get rid of them, suddenly it is her favorite and couldnt part with it) and suprisingly responded that most of her stuffed animals could go except for 3, and she wants to donate them to CARES NW (where she went for her first intake/interview with detectives) and The Childrens Center (where she was placed for counseling through the justice system until the grant ran out) and said "I remember how hard it was to talk about everything, and having a "comfort item" to hold made things a little better. Im sure these stuffed animals could maybe help someone who is just starting to tell their story" All I could do was smile and hug her. Bless her sweet little heart.
