Jasmine was given an award at school last week. I received an email from her teacher saying that she was receiving an award at the next success assembly, but I didnt know what it was for. I was able to rearrange my schedule so I could go to the assembly. When I got there, I found out what it was for...Courage and Perseverance...As hard as I tried not to, I teared up, I wasnt sure if I was going to make it through the assembly with out sobbing. It is just so fitting. If anyone deserves an award for Courage and Perseverance, it is my sweet baby girl. She is the most courageous person I know, and the courage and perseverance that she has shown though everything she has been through is truly inspiring. When I, as her mother, look at everything she has gone through, I am amazed at how she carries on with her little life, and continues to be such a phenomenal person. She is doing amazing in school, music, track, etc. She still sees good in people, and has compassion for others. She wants to help other kids that have gone through what she did. She still has alot of bad days and triggers, but she is doing pretty well, all things considered. She has survived more than most adults could. I dont think her teacher and principle know just how fitting this was for her, and how much it meant to all of us. I am one extremely proud mama!
